Humanities Kansas welcomes Joy Harjo to Lawrence on February 23, 2022, at 7:00pm in partnership with Haskell Indian Nations University, the Lawrence Public Library, and the Hall Center for the Humanities at the University of Kansas.

"An Evening with Joy Harjo" will take place on February 23, 2022, at 7:00 pm at Liberty Hall, 644 Massachusetts Street in Lawrence.

The event is free and admission is first come, first serve. Doors open at 6:00 pm.

Per Liberty Hall policy, proof of fully vaccinated status is required to attend this event. Patrons must present a vaccine card with matching ID upon entry. Proof of vaccination can be a physical paper copy or a snapshot on your mobile device (date of birth must be visible), along with a matching photo ID. Fully vaccinated status (2 weeks past final dose of vaccine) is required.

The event will also be livestreamed at https://www.crowdcast.io/e/JoyHarjo/register.

An Evening with Joy Harjo is part of the Democracy and the Informed Citizen Initiative, a partnership between the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Federation of State Humanities Councils to support public programming that explores the role of humanities and journalism in fostering a more informed citizenry.

Local partners include Haskell Indian Nations University, the Lawrence Public Library Friends and Foundation, the Hall Center for the Humanities at the University of Kansas, the Raven Book Store, and the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.
